Go4th Sunday Milton Keynes – Holy Communion in a Local Care Home
http://www.go4th.org.uk

One of our regular Go4th activities is to take a Communion service at a local residential home. We aim to take a team of people so that we can share roles in the service and spend time sharing fellowship with the lovely residents who are always so glad to welcome us. If you’d like to join us for this Go4th activity or if you have any questions, then please contact Keith Straughan (frkeith@straughan.org.uk or 01908 768111).

We always meet first at All Saints Church for breakfast at 9:30am followed by our informal Go4th service between 10:15am and 10.45am, then we leave for the Communion service. If you’re unable to commit in advance, you’re welcome to chat to Keith in Church at the Go4th service.

Go4th Sunday Milton Keynes – Reflection on Nature – Sequoia Trees

By | July 2019, Reflective Walk in Nature | 3 Comments

We had a lovely service this Go4th Sunday led by Larry Kavanagh of Church Without Walls as our Rector Matt Trendall is on annual leave.

Having the hottest day on record in the UK this week, I am sure many of us including nature have welcomed the cooler weather today with the rain this morning. As we decided not to venture out for our reflective walk, we were still able to admire nature as we stood at the doorway of our church All Saints, led by Larry we admired the largest tree in our churchyard which is called the Sequoia. Larry informed us that the Sequoia tree is the world’s largest tree. We also learnt more than 22 million trees have been planted in Milton Keynes.  With so many trees we have a lot to be grateful for as many places around the UK and the globe are cutting down their trees which affects the Carbon Cycle.

The Sequoia tree grows taller than the Statue of Liberty in New York

Below is the picture of our Sequoia tree at All Saints Church, church yard, Milton Keynes Village.  The tallest tree that you can see in the middle of the photograph is the Sequoia.  You are most welcome to come for a visit at any time to see the beauty of this tree.
